SOLD Antique Pair of early Primitive Country Twin Beds - Outstanding
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful outstanding pair of twin country primitive beds that date form the 1840s to 1850s era. These were refinished a long time ago and there are traces of old red paint on the beds. So, they removed the old expensive red paint and finished them in this amber color which was common in the 50’s and 60’s. Someone has altered the rails so that they fit a modern day mattress and box spring. The inside dimensions for mattress purposes is 39 inches wide by 74 inches long. The beds themselves are most unusual as they have a slightly different footboard than headboard. So, I am not sure if they were made this way or if they have been married together. Either way, they are beautiful and they fit together nicely. They were original rope beds. The outside dimensions are 45.5 inches wide, 46 inches tall. It has a wonderful cross stretcher on the footboard and a shield on the headboard. They are very heavy with bolt in rails.
