This Antique File Cabinet would be perfect for the lawyer, banker, or business person in your life. Constructed of tiger-sawn oak, this Victorian four-drawer file cabinet dates from the 1890s to 1900, and has been restored. Someone has taken the file cabinet and replaced the panel sides — a lot of times these cabinets were connected together for what can only be explained as a wall of something like 20 cabinets, so it’s not uncommon to see them like this after they’ve been disconnected.
This file cabinet is probably a Macy brand cabinet, and the new sides have been built nicely; they follow the contours of the original cabinet really well. It’s finished in a nice medium dark oak stain. It has the index card holders, the brass handles, and they’re on metal sliders. The drawers seem to work fairly well, especially for a piece this old. The overall size is 18 inches wide, 28 inches deep, and an overall height of 53 inches.
The drawers are 14 inches wide on the outside, on the inside they’re 12 inches wide, and the face front is the standard 10.5 inches, so they are standard size file drawer.
