The crenellated crest above a row of bobbin turned short spindles above the tufted black leather panel framed within molded style joined to horizontal arms with padded leather arm rests above a row of bobbin turned spindles, it rests on curved supports, embellished with incised gold heightened bellflower decoration centering an ample rectangular over upholstered leather seat. The upholstery features brass tacked borders, and the chair is joined to a modern steel spring support that allows the frame to swivel and tilt, which is in turn raised on four walnut Victorian style legs with ebonized accents. Each leg is raised on modern ball casters. Talking to the owner they remembered paying in the $6000.00 range for this beautiful chair about 15 years ago!!This beautiful example was achieved around the year 2002 by the removal of the original chair legs and an addition of a modern swivel mechanism, finished with faithfully reproduced Victorian style legs.
