Set of 7 Antique Oak Dining Chairs – Pressed Cane, 1890s #22498

Offered today is a set of 7 oak dining room chairs, including:

1 arm chair

6 side chairs

These chairs came right out of a home in the mountains of Vermont and were professionally refinished about 10 years ago. The finish has held up well, showcasing a medium oak stain with a soft satin sheen lacquer.

The overall condition is solid and presentable, and the pressed cane seats are in good usable shape. Some of the cane has been replaced over time, which you’ll notice in the photos—there’s some color variation. The good news? This is the easier kind of cane to replace (pressed cane comes in rolls, and can be cut and installed with relative ease). These chairs are constructed from solid tiger sawn oak, with elegant details throughout:

Flared back legs

Double turned spindle stretchers for strength and style

Sculpted hand-hold backs and shapely cut-out center splats
