SOLD Berkey and Gay Flame Mahogany Bow Front Tall Chest

We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful ox bow flame mahogany dark brown stain finish tall chest made by the Berkey and Gay company out of the mid northwest back in the 1930’s.  You already know that is quality when you go to lift it as it is heavy.  It is marked Berkey and Gay on the top right hand drawer, which didn't surprise us.  The chest has a dainty little backsplash and star embossed oval Hepplewhite style handle with brass bales.  One of the bales was missing and it was replaced with a steel bale in and antiqued it, it is slightly different but does the job.  It is very usable, but not original to the piece  The top drawers are 5 inches high, the next drawer down is 6.5 inches high, the next drawer is 6.75 inches high and the next drawer is 8 inches high and the bottom drawer is 10 inches deep.  it offers ample storage for your needs.  The chest has all dove tail drawers, solid panels sides, tapered legs and the top is going to be re-sprayed as it appears someone had removed some of the finish no the front most likely from fingernail polish remover.  The chest is in the original dark brown stain finish which highlights the gorgeous selection of the veneers on the bow drawers.  The cabinet is a nice honest piece from Berkey and Gay.  The overall size is 37 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 51 inches high to the backsplash, 49 inches high to the top of the chest.  Shipping starts at $299 for driveway delivery in our normal area.  Please contact us to discuss shipping options as white glove delivery is available for most areas at an additional charge.
