Beautiful late Victorian quarter-sawn oak extension dining table dating to the 1890s, professionally restored and refinished and ready to go directly into your home.

The quarter-sawn oak on this table is exceptional, with the distinctive tiger-sawn grain visible across the top, apron, base, and leaves. The rich finish really brings out the figuring in the oak while retaining the substantial character you want in a piece from this period.

The base is particularly impressive. A large turned center column anchors the table, flanked by two substantial split pedestal-style legs with gracefully curved feet. The original casters remain underneath, making the table considerably easier to move than its substantial construction would suggest.

Closed, the table measures 48 inches across, making it a very manageable size for everyday dining. When additional seating is needed, the table opens to accept its three matching 11.5-inch leaves, extending it to approximately 82.5 inches. That versatility makes it a great choice for a home where you don’t want an enormous dining table taking up the room every day, but still want plenty of space when family and friends get together.

Excellent restored condition. This table has been professionally restored and refinished and is ready for many more years of regular use and enjoyment. As an authentic antique dating to the 1890s, minor evidence of age may remain, but the table presents beautifully.
