Beautiful circa 1890s quarter-sawn oak round dining table with a richly figured top, substantial split pedestal base and wonderfully carved claw feet. This is a classic late Victorian oak table with great presence, beautiful grain and the added versatility of an extension mechanism.

The 45” round top displays the dramatic grain that makes quarter-sawn oak so desirable, with particularly attractive figuring across the surface. A molded edge surrounds the top, while the deep apron is finished with a repeating carved decorative border.

The base is especially impressive. A heavy turned center pedestal separates as the table opens, revealing a split pedestal design with an additional center support leg for stability when extended. Four sweeping legs terminate in large, deeply carved animal-paw/claw feet, giving the table a substantial architectural quality without overwhelming the round top.

The table measures approximately 45” in diameter and 30” high when closed. It opens to approximately 75” long and can accommodate up to three 10” leaves. This table is being sold without leaves, but it will accommodate them should the buyer wish to have replacements made. Please contact us for a quote if you would like us to fabricate the leaves for you.

This is a particularly versatile size: compact enough to use as a round everyday dining table while offering the ability to expand considerably for larger gatherings.
