SOLD Antique Parlor Table, Custom Mahogany Birdcage Tilt Top Table
This wonderful solid mahogany antique parlor table is a custom piece, with heavily carved ball and claw feet, and a tilt top bird cage style Chippendale stand. Dating from the 1930's to 1940's, please do not confuse this antique table with the more moderate ones from the 1950's that are only veneer and stained mahogany. This antique tilt-top table is a beautiful custom solid mahogany, with carved cabriole leg ball and claw foot. This antique tilt top stand is not marked, but it is certainly the quality of Kittinger or Beacon Hill; a high-end quality stand. Take a look at the pictures to see the wonderful multi-carved multi-turn center mahogany column that comes down into three cabriole carved foot legs. The top is all scalloped with solid mahogany, and the great thing about a table like this being 30 inches across and 30 inches high, is that it could be a small dinette table or an oversized stand for lamps and plants. This antique mahogany table could be used as a decorative item by flipping up the brass latch to display the bird cage multi turn four corner spindle space between the top and the base. When the table is tilted up it is a display piece that is 47 inches high. It is a fantastic quality table with a nice original finish showing minor wear spots here and there.
