This antique sideboard is a fantastic example of antique oak furniture at its finest. Dating from the 1900s, this antique buffet comes with olive ash burl curved doors with inlaid ebony and maple. The two center drawers are picture frame molded and has the same olive ash burl with the inlaid and even the inside of the drawers is all tiger sawn oak. It has barley twist posts on a double pedestal base with floral carved curved skirts and corner blocks with accent carving in the center. This is a lovely shapely sideboard that has the original solid brass tear drop handles. This cabinet was most likely made by Berkey & Gay, but I don’t see a label or stamp. The negative on the piece is that there is a stain on the top where something sat at one time. I am sure it could be taken out if it bothers you, but it isn’t that offensive. There is a rub mark on the molding between the two doors. It has a shapely wide ogee bevel edge top that follows the contours of the cabinet base. The overall size is 70 inches wide, 21 inches deep and 37 inches high. This would look great in a hallway, dining room or even as a TV base. It is in the nice warm amber medium stain finish.
