This antique oak server is in tiger sawn oak, and is heavily carved. Dating from the 1880's, this antique server has oak construction throughout the entire piece, including the drawer bottoms and sides. It has beautiful leaves across all the doors and drawers, coming down the columns, a full standing wing griffin supports the bottom shelf to the top cabinet, and it all terminates with a bun foot below the rope braided edge base. This antique server has an ogee bevel edge solid oak top, and is a stunning piece that has hand cut dove tail drawers with the center drawer having a lion face carved right in it. I don’t believe this is Horner, but it is in the Horner style and quality. It has a crack on the top that can be re-glued, but I would leave it as it is original. I don’t believe the backsplash is correct as it is slightly a different color, but the rest of it is all complete. The lion body on the right-hand side has a lamination seam that we will glue up prior to shipping. The overall size is 60 inches wide, 25 inches deep, 40 inches high to the backsplash, 37 inches high to the cabinet top and 7.5 inches high to the bottom shelf. The open compartment in the center is 22 inches from the floor, 19 inches wide and 8 inches high for storage. It is in the original finish that is really nice.
