SOLD Antique End Table, Antique Victorian Marble Top Turtle Top Parlor Stand
We are pleased to be offering this beautiful Victorian white marble turtle top on a solid black walnut Victorian table base frame. It is a beautiful table that dates from the 1880s in original condition. The marble top resembles the shell or a tortoise or turtle, which is why they call it a turtle top. The white and gray grained marble has a wide ogee bevel edge that follows the contours of the shapely turtle shape design. The solid wooden frame skirt that holds the marble, sits upon four shapely cutout legs that are joined together in the center with a multi-turn center post that has a bottom and top final. It retains the original metal castors; the whole piece is pretty much original. The marble has one small stain that is about the size of a quarter and is shown in the photos. The overall size is 34 inches wide, 24 inches deep and 29.5 inches high. It is a great table to accent your room. Shipping starts at $185 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. Outside the normal area will incur additional delivery charges.
