We are pleased to be offering today this Victorian oval parlor stand dating from the 1870's that was definitely made by someone with a lot of talent and a eye for quality. I have never seen a stand like this in all my years in the business. The stand has a fantastic base with heavily carved scroll legs with rosettes and the center column that has deep bold ball accented center post with a return finial. The base is very stout and stylish. The top has a solid black walnut skirted top with a collection of beautiful multiple inlaid veneers on top. Some cabinetmaker clearly wanted to impress his friends with this piece. It has burl walnut on the outside border, cross grain straight walnut, burl walnut on the inside, maple with stripe maple oval in the center that is stained a dark brown. The table has been all restored, tightened up, re-glued, refinished and multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer have been applied. It retains that original castors. The overall size is 37 inches wide, 28 inches deep and 30.5 inches high. Shipping starts at 165.00 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
