We are pleased to be offering today this Eastlake/Victorian artists portfolio music stand that is very unique.  It has an adjustable back to hold the size of the picture or painting that you are displaying and it has two slant carved lids that flip out for storage below.  It has a carved North Wind face in the top of the center of the top sliding easel top, carved clam shell, rosettes and flowers throughout.  The tray that holds the pictures/paintings also has carvings.  The two portfolio flip back covers are simply a shelf with a lid that folds back and is held in place with a tiny dainty chain on both sides.  The faces of both of those have a mandolin in the center with a trumpet, musical banner and sorts on both sides of the circle.  There are carved dragon faces on each side.  There are cracks in the circles, which leads me to believe it could be gesso or it could be the wood drying out.  It is hard to tell with the dark stain.  These are very rare as they would get demolished over the years.  This will fold right up.  When you want to open it, you put flared legs back down, flip the braces down and it is ready for use.  The overall size is 25 inches wide, 24 inches of space between the front legs, 62 inches high when the top is adjusted down, but it can go up another 4 inches.  The overall condition is good.  It is stained a dark reddish brown mahogany stain.  I believe it has multiple types of woods such as cherry and birch.  Shipping starts at $165 for a crated delivery due to fragileness in our normal area.  Please contact us prior to purchase as shipping can increase as much as $50 the further from New England you are.
