SOLD Rare National Cash Register Mahogany Heavily Inlaid

We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful and rare mahogany with flame mahogany heavily inlaid carved WOODEN cash register that dates from the 1890s.  I have been in the business for over 50 years now and I have only owned about 10 cash registers like this in my years.  I was shocked to find one right here in the state of Maine at an estate sale!  I was so happy to be the successful purchaser of it.  It is a cash register that back in the day we would get $3500 to $3800 for.  Now a days, you buy something right and you sell it right.  This particular model is heavier inlaid than some.  It uses maple inlaid, mother of pearl, flame mahogany panels and wonderful carving throughout.  It has the original devil’s cast brass handle on the drawer.  It has been finished a long time ago. It has a few issues of nicks and dings, a little bit of veneer underneath the devil’s face on the drawer. It has the original brass spiral rod in the front.  The keys look pretty much original.  It still has the patent date on the front.  It seems to work on all the buttons and dings.  The drawer doesn’t stay closed, but I believe there is an attachment on the inside with a piece of hardware that I believe became disconnected.  I believe it is a minor fix.  The case is finished in a dark brown mahogany stain.  Everything is great about this cash register and we are happy to have it for you.  The overall size is 19 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 19.5 inches high.  I did a little research on it and another person had one for sale and I believe their price was $4,650.00 so this one is a deal to fill your store with scarce and rare items.  Shipping estimates starts at $225.00-$245.00 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
