We are pleased to be offering this wonderful tiger-sawn oak hall tree with original finish and beveled glass mirror. Found in a Connecticut home, it dates from the 1890s; this gorgeous hall tree features many carved details, and has the original bevel glass mirror, all the original metal hooks, lift up seat, scroll arms, and the carving is all intact. It is in wonderful original condition with a beautifully aged dark oak stain over the desirable tiger-sawn oak. While it has the normal nicks normally seen on a piece this age, it is in great condition. The top is all scrolled with applied carving throughout, and the grains of the tiger-sawn oak really stand out from under the original dark oak stain. The lift top seat has plenty of space to hold whatever you wish to store. There are some typical lamination seams that can be seen on the back, but they aren’t anything structural, and we only mention it because we like to be thorough. The overall size is 38 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 85 inches high overall, 29 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the lift seat. The original silver of the mirror shows some age marks, but adds charm and character and can be expected from something over 130 years old.
