SOLD French Carved Chaise Lounge with Bird Carvings

We are pleased to be offering this French carved chaise lounge to you today. This chaise came out of a local Waterville, Maine home, where they were splitting up their estate and downsizing from a large Victorian home to a smaller one. This beautiful chaise lounge is in a style I have never seen before. I've been in this business for over 50 years, and I've seen almost everything out there at least once. When I asked where she got it, she replied that her husband picked it up at an auction long ago. This chaise is in a solid wood with a dark mahogany stain; it looks like it is either walnut or rosewood under the seat, but it's hard to tell for sure. There are deep, 3-inch-thick carvings in the back, and the upholstery is buttoned and pleated. It has winged scroll legs on the front and carved flowers across the face.  If this is old, then it is a real deal.  If it is only 30 years old, then it is priced accordingly. There are no holes, rips, or tears, and is from a non-smoking home. The overall size is 90 inches long, 26 inches deep, 20 inches high to the seat, 30 inches high to the top of the arm and 42 inches high to the top of the curved back.  The curved head-rest section is 36 inches high.  It has beaded carving on the back and a single bead is missing.
