We are pleased to be offering today dating from the 1890’s this most unusual solid mahogany empire style carved partner's desk, writing desk, library table or whatever you want to call it. It has drawers on both sides with the heavily carved skirts of solid mahogany with lion faces in the centers and brass rings hanging out of their noses on both drawers. On the ends it also has lion faces, but there are no brass rings. I am sure they had them at one point, but I personally would remove them if it were mine. However, it is coming with the two rings as shown on each drawer. The top is supported with four fluted columns on both sides with acanthus carved flat feet and a solid cross stretcher with what they call a shoe foot. The overall size is 72 inches wide, 36 inches deep and 30 inches high. It is in the old dark brown mahogany stain. You can tell the dust is still on it and if it was polished up it would be beautiful. The top can be sanded, stained and re-sprayed if the buyer so desires for an additional fee, so please contact us to obtain a quote.
