SOLD Empire Flame Mahogany Tall Dresser Chest – Period Pre-Civil War
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful period flame mahogany front empire tall chest dating from the 1850’s with a beautiful flame mahogany front that has one large drawer on top, two bonnet drawers on each side of the two smaller drawers in the middle and three drawers beneath for a total of 8 drawers. This chest has the Empire or jelly feet, original finish, poplar sides, a few veneer chips on the front, flame mahogany front, polar top, plank sides and in good shape. The right side has a crack down it, which is a typical lamination seam and has nothing to do with the structure of the chest. The overall size is 48 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 53 inches high. The wonderful detail to the hand cut dove tail drawers are beautiful. The drawers on top are ogee molded so they are flat and curved down into the same style as the famous empire o-gee mirrors that we sell.
