They don’t make them like this anymore. This period Empire pre-Civil War wall mirror is a great example of the quality of 19th –century craftsmanship. The molding is made in three different steps. It is veneered in beautiful flame mahogany. This frame has been run though the restoration shop to make sure it’s tight and sturdy and it has been re-sprayed to bring out the grains of the beautiful reddish-brown stained flame mahogany veneer. This lovely frame measures 32.5 inches wide by 22.75 inches high and dates from the pre-Civil war era of the 1850’s. The looking glass is 23.5 inches wide and 13.5 inches high. Imagine this hanging in your home. The looking glass and back board have most likely been replaced somewhere along the line.
