We are pleased to offer this original finish oak Victorian platform rocker by renowned designer George Hunzinger, originally from Germany and later based in Philadelphia. This piece features the classic "lollipop" design, with small decorative balls and distinctive lollipop-shaped accents on the back. The rocker also includes an uncommon headrest for added comfort, and is upholstered in brown leather on both the seat and back.
The chair rests on Hunzinger’s genuine platform spring mechanism, a hallmark of his craftsmanship. Measuring 21 inches wide and 20 inches deep, the chair stands 45 inches high at the back, with the arms 25.5 inches high and the seat naturally resting at 16 inches. These dimensions make it a perfect fit for any space while offering a comfortable and stylish seat.
This rocker recently auctioned for over $1150 (plus a 30% buyer's premium), and that version didn’t even have a headrest! We got this one for a reasonable price, and as always, we are passing on the savings to you. This is a great opportunity to own a piece of Hunzinger's iconic furniture.
Dimensions:
- Width: 21 inches
- Depth: 20 inches
- Height (to chair back): 45 inches
- Height (to arm): 25.5 inches
- Height (to seat as naturally rests): 16 inches
It’s a beautiful and rare rocker that will be a standout addition to any antique collection or living space.
