This antique dining room table is constructed of tiger sawn oak and dates from the 1890s. Featuring original, perfectly aged finish, and a three-piece base, this table is utterly beautiful. We sell a lot of antique tables here at Maine Antique Furniture - we’re kind of famous for our inventory of them and we get a lot of stunning tables through here and this one is no exception! The four legs feature what we can only described as carved griffins with acanthus carved details on their heads — the griffins teeth are showing sort of in like a little grimace - they’re very dramatic and indicative of the time period.
The table base pulls apart, and reveals a very large, fluted middle leg, to help support the table when fully extended open. This particular table comes with two 11 inch leaves. The diameter when closed measures 54 inches round and with the two 11 inch leaves installed it becomes 76 inches in length and 30 inches in height. The table can open to roughly 12 feet long, so if you’d like additional leaves fabricated to make this possible, let us know and we will get you a quote from our professional restoration shop.
We’re very excited to be offering this stunning antique oak dining room table to you today.
