SOLD Antique Mahogany Governor Winthrop Slant Top Desk by Maddox
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful mahogany four drawer serpentine ox bow front claw foot high quality desk made by Maddox furniture company out of New York back in the 1940s. It has four ox bow drawers, breadboard slant top lid, supports come out to support the writing surface when flipped down and it reveals a cubby hole interior with a center door and two cleverly disguised compartments behind the center posts. It has ball and claw feet, Chippendale hardware and is in a dark reddish brown mahogany stain finish. We used to see these all the time, but they are getting harder to locate. The overall size is 33 inches wide, 17 inches deep and 42 inches high. The overall condition is good with minor nicks and dings. There are some surface scratches on the writing surface. Overall condition is nice. Shipping starts at $265 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
