SOLD Antique Mahogany Carved Banquet Table by Horner – 1890s Oval Dining Table

This exceptional carved Mahogany banquet table by Horner dates from the 1890s. A grand oval table, it showcases fine Victorian craftsmanship and distinctive figural carvings, making it a true statement piece for any dining room.
The table features a molded-edge solid top that sits on four boldly carved legs, each with the torso of a tunic-draped female set against a square column with molded base. It is resting on casters. The carving is crisp and expressive, reflecting the artistry for which Horner was well known.
When the table was professionally refinished approximately ten years ago, it was customized so the leaves were permanently joined, creating a one-piece solid top measuring an impressive 140 inches long. Originally, the table was designed as a 60-inch round that could open with extension leaves. If desired, we can restore it back to the traditional extension-slider configuration, allowing it to close down to 60 inches round and extend to 60 x 132 inches.
