We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful antique curved glass with serpentine glass front door mirror back glass shelf Victorian tiger sawn oak china closet dating from the 1890’s. It is a beautiful china closet that is all tiger sawn oak in the original finish. The top has a four-inch step out heavily carved crown that follows the curved glass serpentine front. There are carved columns coming down the front on both sides of the serpentine door with full lion bodies up top and a claw foot four footed base. The right claw foot has some carving missing on the side edge, which isn’t very noticeable. It has plate glass shelves that are 10-inch heights between the shelves. The fixed shelves are 14 inches deep. The overall size of the cabinet is 54 inches wide across the top, 19 inches deep and 71 inches high. The lion bodies form the claw feet to the top of the mane is 15 inches tall. The serpentine or S shape center door is 21 inches wide. This came right out of a home in New Jersey. The bottom of the left post is a small crack in the bottom wooden shelf, which is no big deal but we wanted to mention it. The curved glass on the right-hand side has a slight gap against the molding, which is suspect that the glass may have been replaced at one time.
