SOLD Antique Hall Tree, Victorian Renaissance Large Marble Top Hall Tree
This antique hall tree is very large and dates from the 1880s. Refinished many many years ago, this larger than normal hall tree is a beautiful example of a Victorian era antique. Featuring its original cast iron pans, original white marble top, pull out drawer, and all the original pegs and burls remain intact; the real centerpiece on this piece is the carved crest.
This hall tree was rumored to be in one of the film versions of Little Women, and was purportedly donated after the film was completed to a company that auctions off set pieces, with the proceeds going to charity.
When this hall tree came to us, two of its front posts had clearly been hastily replaced. We had the professionals in our restoration shop turn some new posts, so they would blend in perfectly with their counterparts. Other than that, this hall tree is pretty much all original. The mirror is original, the marble top is original, and the finish is really nice in a medium walnut stain.
This measures 49 inches at the widest point, 99 inches tall, and approx 18 inches deep. The height to the top of the marble above the drawer is 26 inches. the size of the looking glass, which is in really nice condition, is 39 inches tall, and 17 inches wide.
