We are pleased to be offering today this style of chair that is the fanciest chair I have seen by far in my over 50 years in the business. It is even in unbelievable original condition. Take a look at the photos to see the pierce carving that appears to be perfect. I am sure there must be some cracks, nicks or dings since it dates from the 1910 to 1920 era, but I do not see any. This chair is of Belter quality, but it is not Belter. I don’t mean to insult anyone that has Belter, but the quality is there on this chair. The chair has press cane on both wings of the chair and on the seat, which is all good. It has knuckle arms, flared tulip shape cabriole front legs, cross stretcher to support, and carvings all over. This chair simply blows me away and I would love to keep it. The boss said we already have too much in the house, but it is a piece worthy of being handed down for generations. The overall size of the chair is 27 inches wide across the arms, 29 inches wide on the wings, 20 inches deep on the seat, 50 inches high to the single carnation on the back, 35 inches high from the seat to the top of the chair back, 29.5 inches high to the arms and 16 inches high to the seat. This type of chair would have always had some type of cushion due to the press cane seat. The dark mahogany stain finish on the chair is wonderful.
