This Antique Victorian dining table is 54 inches in diameter and constructed of solid mahogany. Dating from the 1880s, this Antique dining room table comes with four factory made leaves that each measure 11 inches wide. This table maintains its original finish, but we are big fans of a professionally refinished, antique dining room table. There’s just something about it having a nice, shiny new coat of finish on a table top! We love it!
There are some surface scratches and a pretty good little dent on one side. Aunt Edith might’ve put the coffee pot down too heavy; she was probably arguing again with her husband, you know how that goes.
The table is solid and the leaves are solid but what’s notable about this table is the base. It’s a split pedestal with a center support leg, acanthus carved elbows, into a very detailed clawfoot. This table is in the dark reddish brown stain.
When we refinish these tables, we do them in a really rich, dark red brown stain. It looks very luxurious. You can see some examples on our Maine Antique Furniture website. If you’d like to have a quote for this table to be refinished, be sure to reach out to us and will get one for you.
