SOLD Antique Dining Room Table / Mahogany Banquet Table - 16 Feet!!!

This gorgeous early Victorian antique dining room table features acanthus carvings, a split pedestal, and Mahogany construction, opens to 16 feet and comes with EIGHT 16 inch factory leaves! This thing is GORGEOUS. There’s no other word we’ll use for it.

When closed, it measures 60 in. square and 29 inches high. In dark reddish brown mahogany stain finish, this finish is actually quite usable with some of the normal nicks dings. On the top you can see there an issue where there was a hairline crack that could use some filling, but if you’re going to refinish the table, there’s no sense in doing that until then.

Overall, it’s condition is nice original. Take a look at the photos of the base of the table. The photos will do a lot better justice than my words can. But it is just stunning, and it has all those acanthus carvings all over the base. This table style suggests a transitional period between late Empire and early Victorian, so it probably dates from the 1870s era. We love this table. You can tell something, especially when we get excited about it, because we have been dealing with antique furniture for over 50 years and we’ve seen almost everything. But this table is really special.

This antique mahogany dining room table is one of the larger tables I’ve had in quite a while. It has an extra large center leg, and provides additional support for when the table is opened to its full 16 foot length. If you have more friends than can fit at this table, you shouldn’t be having them over to dinner because it’ll be too expensive to feed them all! ;)
