We are pleased to be offering this unique piece of oak cowgirl side-by-side bookcase desk to you today. Dating from the 1890s, this piece features a circle bevel glass mirror, stick and ball decoration, and dainty carvings. In all my history in the business, I have never owned this model before. It always amazes me when I can find a piece I have never owned before, because of after more than 50 years in the business, we've seen a lot! This was refinished a long time ago in a medium oak stain with a super shiny hand rubbed finish on it that has aged to a pretty good patina over the years. The right-hand bookcase door section has two adjustable shelves. There are two drawers underneath the drop-down lid that opens to reveal a cubby hole interior. The top has a big circular mirror, triple finials and applied carvings all over. The top has acorn finials along the stick and ball top. One of the acorns is missing and I am sure it can be duplicated by us if you remind us at point of sale. The base has a bottom shelf, fancy cutout fretwork, dove tail drawers with raised panel fronts and it is just an unusual dainty desk. The only damage I can see is the lid must have fallen at tone time and it chipped the right-hand corner of the drawer, which can be repaired. The overall size is 38 inches wide, 14 inches deep and 69 inches high overall. The size of the circle bevel glass mirror is 16 inches round. The mirror is in good shape with a few minor flaws from age. Shipping starts at $365 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
