We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful art nouveau style heavily carved all over curved back mahogany stained chair that dates from the 1890s to 1910s. What a fantastic chair that certainly would have been a photographers choice in a picture back in the day. It has a curved back design that is smothered in solid mahogany carvings. It has a curved out incise carved out arm and a serpentine beaded skirt on the front of the seat. There are arch carved arm supports that go down into a cabriole style tiny brass castor footed base with incise carvings on the fronts of the legs. The chair has some damage on the back of it at one time, where someone leaned really hard on it years ago and it was repaired along with the fronts of the arms. The chair is all tight and sturdy now. The upholstery is a black upholstery with pink and silver leaves that is quite pretty. It also has a lot of pattern. The overall size across the arms is 27 inches wide, 21 inches deep from front to back, 39 inches high to the chair back and 17 inches high to the seat.
