We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Victorian better than average burl walnut marble top drop center or cheval dresser that dates from the Victorian era of the 1870s. It is a beautiful example with all the burl applied trim and incise carvings. It has two small drawers on each side with two large drawers on the base. The escutcheons are carved pin wheels on the keyhole covers. The mirror has lots of burl walnut. The candle shelves are much better than average. It has a fluted columns, applied carvings, rosettes, big clam shell top crest, heavy multi-moldings and burl panels throughout. It has hand cut dovetails on all the drawers. Someone has replaced the tear drop pulls with reproduction pulls, but most wouldn’t notice. Other than a bit of clear coat finish worn on some of the burl panels, it is all original in nice condition. It would be a nice piece to rub down and get the luster back. The white marble is ogee bevel edge round corners on the two top sections and square corner on the bottom section. The overall size is 52 inches across, 22 inches deep and 95 inches high. The height of the drop center is 22 inches high. The looking glass is in good shape and measures 19 inches wide by 46 inches tall. It is a great example of Victorian furniture.
