This beautiful antique server features original finish, incised carving, burl walnut accent panels, and is the renaissance style. Dating from the 1870s to 1880s, this piece came in with glass knobs and we went ahead and replaced them with reproduction tear drop pulls. We made them look aged and we have to say, they look fantastic. The escutcheons on the bottom were replaced by a previous owner, but they didn’t have walnut by the looks of it and they put them in place and colored them, but at least they are there. The cabinet is in nice with original finish, with gold accented incised carved details, burl walnut panels, fancy burl walnut accent trims all the way around, step up center drawer and it is stunning in person. It has a hand cut dove tail drawers. The center door has a middle shelf for extra storage that is original. The left and right sides have the original shelves mid-way. There are numerous nicks and dings on the baseboard where people’s foot hit it regularly. Overall, it is a great accent piece. The overall size is 55 inches wide, 17 inches deep in the center, 14 inches deep on the sides, 50 inches high to the top, 44 inches high above the door and 38 inches wide on the drop centers. I love this kind of walnut that is untouched. It could use a quality detail polishing. The center door sis 23 inches wide by 29 inches high. The picture frame molded sides doors are 9.5 inches wide. It is in really nice condition for the age. All the burl walnut is intact. There is a slight loss of gold on the very top where it has been used.
