We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful heavily carved press back children’s up and down high chair that is in wonderful condition. I can’t believe it, but it actually is dated on the footrest. The chair goes up and down in three different positions: a high chair, a walker and a rocker. The date on the footrest says July 2, 1901. It is stamped and dated on the footrest, which I have never seen on an oak one. The finish is fantastic and everything on it is original right down to the cane seat. The cane seat is old and it has one little hole. The cane seat is press cane not lace cane, so it is easy and relatively cheap to replace. The back of the chair is simply gorgeous. The overall size when up right is 18 inches wide across the tray, 18 inches deep, 42 inches high to the back, 31 inches high to the tray and 17 inches high to the footrest. The walker setting drops about 8 inches. The iron wheels allow ease of movement. The tray locks into place with the original hardware. It is finished in a dark oak stain that has aged to a beautiful patina over the years. Shipping estimates starts at $110.00-$145.00 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
