Not just a table, this extraordinary professionally refinished mahogany piece is a true work of art, with its carved columns, split pedestal and gorgeous sheen that will last for years to come

What an amazing table: It is a beautiful 54-inch gadroon edge round split pedestal mahogany claw foot heavily carved banquet table that comes with three skirted 12-inch leaves that also have the gadroon edge. We have taken the leaves and skirted them so they match the table top and when the leaves are in there is no ugly gap on the side of the table skirt. We’re quite proud of the fact that we do this for almost every one of our tables, and we do have several other tables listed right now that display our excellent workmanship. This table dates from the 1890s.  This particular table is gorgeous and has a split pedestal base with canthus carving in the center column. It comes down in a lot of carving on top of the toenail claw foot leg. When the table is opened up to insert the three 12-inch leaves, the table and pedestal splits apart and a large center mahogany leg stays intact for stability and sturdiness. This table is absolutely beautiful, it has been completely refinished in a rich reddish-brown mahogany  stain. The shade of the leaves, as always, is just a hair different than the table top itself. The table, when closed up, measures 54 inches round and 30 inches high. When the three leaves are inserted, it becomes 92 inches long, 54 inches deep, and 30 inches high. The skirt is approximately 25.5 inches high from the floor. This table has been professionally refinished, which means it has been completely stripped, all sanded, glued up, stained, hand rubbed with eight coats of lacquer, and as a result has an incredible soft satin sheen, which is very durable and lasts for years. The cost of the work that has been done to this table would run to almost $1400 for a table of this size. Keep that in mind when you are considering this table — it’s a true work of art. You can have this majestic piece shipped to your home for only $385, within our normal delivery area.
