We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian civil war era burl walnut step back two door bookcase with two drawers on the base that dates from the 1870s era. We have brought this into the shop to tighten it up, make necessary repairs, hand sanded, hand stained leaving the original patina and applied coats of satin sheen lacquer. We left the little nicks and dings in the top as they provide charm and character. Overall the bookcase is beautiful with a wide ogee bevel edge on the rectangular top, multi-molded step down bracket, burl panels on all sides with diamond point corner blocks, circular rosette decorate, shapely carved doors, the right hand door has a small piece of carving missing from the top piece and the step out base has two burl walnut hand carved dove tail drawers. The overall size is 65 inches wide at the base, 17 inches deep on the base, 12 inches high on the base, 13 inches deep on the top, 47 inches high on the top and 59 inches high overall. There two adjustable shelves on each side. Shipping starts at $345 if you are in our normal area.
