We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful oak Victorian platform rocker in what appears to be original condition dating from the early 1900’s. It has a great looking back with a cutout circular design on the top crest, five cutout fancy splats in the back that curve to the shape of your back, large solid oak back posts that end in a turn finial top, carved arms with fancy cutout supports like the back, a wonderful front with multi-turn spindles on the base and the top of the rocker and a skirt to match the back with the circular trim piece. The upholstery is an old antique floral design that is in nice shape. The only thing I can see wrong with it is that someone must have gotten ambitious rocking one day and cracked a rocker. It has been repaired previously on the side of the platform, but all good and sturdy, but we will check it over prior to shipping to make sure it is all good. Overall it is in great condition. The overall size is 24 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 45 inches to the back of the posts, 24 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the seat. This is a spring platform rocker which means the base is stationary and the seat sits onto of the base and you can see on the side where the curve is for rocking. It is finished in a dark oak stain. There is a couple of small holes right below the top trim where someone had a cushion at one time. If the buyer so desires, we can fill the holes, but I would leave them personally. Shipping starts at $185 for a driveway delivery in our normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are in our normal delivery area.
