We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful solid black cherry full
size pencil post canopy bed that dates from the 1950s to 1960s. This bed
takes a normal full size mattress and box spring that is a 54 by 76 inches.
This solid black cherry bed is stamped by the Sterling House Early American
Furniture Company and was manufactured by the Jamestown Furniture Company
out of Jamestown, NY. They used to make the Maddox governor Winthrop desk
there. The other tag says that Terryville Furniture Company out of the mid
west actually sold the bed. There are few minor nicks and dings, but
overall this Sheraton style pencil post canopy bed just reeks of class. The
overall size is 58 inches wide, 78 inches tall to the finials on the posts,
80 inches high to the center of the curved canopy. The bed is in a
beautiful brown warm cherry stain that produces an amber look. The bed
comes with the canopy, 4 finials, shield headboard and multi-turn cross
stretcher on the footboard. These beds don't show up very often in cherry.
We also have a night stand and dresser with mirror that was in the same
bedroom as this beautiful, so please check our other listings to see if they
are still available. Shipping starts at $295 for a driveway delivery in our
normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are
within our normal area.
