We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful set of 6 matching heavily carved solid oak dining chairs that date from the 1920s to 1930s. They are a great set of chairs that consists of two arm chairs and four side chairs. They are all solid oak construction. They are in the somewhat gothic style based on the construction, but truthfully they are Jacobean. The solid oak square rectangular posts have carved leaves going down them, turn finial ball tops, the center crests are carved out with a tulip and leaves and there is a little honeycomb crest on top. They chairs also have an upholstered center back with flowers carved underneath. The seat is a wrap around with an old leather that is almost an off pink. The leather is cracked and shows crazing, but is usable. The chairs could be reupholstered if you would like them in the same style with the brass tacks. The front legs of the chairs are all fluted columns with a block foot and a solid H cross stretcher braced construction. The finish is a dark oak with some of the finish worn off here and there. It is a charming set of six chairs. Before the chairs leave the facility, we will re-glue them for you if you wish. They are kind of tight, but could use a gluing to insure sturdiness and stability. You are getting all six (2 arm chairs and 4 side chairs) for one money. The overall size of the side chair is 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 42 inches high and 19 inches high to the seat. The overall size of the arm chair is 24 inches across the front of the seat, 19 inches deep, 44 inches to the top of the crest and 19 inches high to the seat. It is a great looking set of six chairs.
