SOLD Rare Empire Victorian Gentleman’s Shaving Stand with Mirror

$245.00 (Fixed shipping cost)

Product Description

We are pleased to be offering today this most unusual find in the Victorian Empire furniture world.  This is a shaving stand for a gentleman that dates from the 1860s to 1870s.  It is almost classified as Empire, but is coming into the Victorian era.  It has beautiful flame mahogany serpentine sides and front, shapely bevel edge top, solid walnut harp and mirror frame, hand cut dove tails in the serpentine drawer, chamfered drawer bottoms, walnut and mahogany base, multi-turn octogen pedestal shape with three fancy cut out legs.  It is a mix of walnut and mahogany.  The overall condition is great.  It even has a brass knob on the front, which I am not sure if it is original.  The overall size is 15 inches wide across the drawer box, 15 inches deep, 39 inches high to the drawer box, 5.5 inches deep on the drawer, 22 inches high form the top to the top of the mirror, 53 inches high overall.  If you have an early Victorian bedroom set or an empire acanthus carved set than this is perfect for your room.   There are few wear marks here and there, but overall it is nice shape.  The mirror does go back and forth for ease when shaving.  Shipping is estimated at $245, but please contact us prior to purchase to confirm the price for your particular location.
