We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful matching pair of overstuffed solid black walnut incise carved barrel front lion face parlor chairs that are really hard to find in this condition. Look at the upholstery that is all buttoned, pleated, overstuffed and are comfortable. Comfortable is rarely a term used for upholstered items of the 1870s and 1880s. There is a gent's and a lady's chair. The only thing wrong with the fabric is one small tear that is very usable and there are leg marks on the seat of one of the chairs where it was stored upside down, but the leg marks will steam right out and disappear. They have lion faces in solid burl walnut coming down both arms, barrel fronts with incise carved burl panels, multi-turn tapered front legs with original castors and is in overall nice condition. You can see where the front leg on the ladies chair was broken and has been repaired. The repair is solid, but they used an awful looking glue and it should be touched up. If the buyer so desires, we are selling them like they are, but if the buyer wants them detailed out to insure that they are tight and sturdy please contact us to discuss pricing. The overall size of the gent's chair is 34 wide, 28 inches deep and 35 inches high. The overall size of the lady's chair is 28 wide, 22 inches deep and 34 inches high. Shipping starts at $269 for the pair and is determined by location and type of service desired. Please contact us prior to purchase to discuss shipping options. If you give these a good vacuuming and dusting, they will be beautiful for decades to come. Please check our listings over the next three weeks as we are listing more items from this wonderful estate.
