We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous oversize carved rolled arm rocker that dates from the 1890s to 1910. This beautiful rocker is mostly elm wood with some maple. It is all original. We have taken the rocker all apart to re-glue, reassembled, hand sand, hand stain, applied multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer and now it is all set for many years of carefree use. The unique thing about this rocker is the size. It is wider and taller than most rocking chairs. It has a bent set of spindle slats to follow the contours of your back, big wide rolled arms and it will hold a large person just as easily as a petite person. It has multi-spindles going up the arms, rolled arms, multi-spindles across the front, even the skirt under the seat and rockers work nicely. It is finished in a medium dark oak colored stain with satin sheen lacquer. It is simply stunning in person. The overall size is 22 inches across the seat., 20 inches from the front to the back, 45 inches high as it rests and 17.5 inches high to the front of the seat as it rests. You will go a long ways to find another rocker like this one. The re-gluing and refinishing of a rocker like this one is between $250 and $300. So, what a great deal this is! This rocker will be shipped for $185 if you are within our normal shipping area. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are within our normal area.
