We are pleased to be offering today this oversize and extra tall four drawer file cabinet dating from the early 1900's. This is one of the tallest example I have every owned. This cabinet was refinished a long time ago by the previous owner and you can tell it wasn’t done professionally as he left some of the stains in the solid oak drawer fronts that sanding would have taken out. It has been refinished years ago. It appears like the sides have been re-fabricated as they often came up missing. Whoever fabricated the sides did a wonderful job as they look factory. The inside of the drawers have hanging files. The inside dimensions are 14.5 inches wide, 12.5 inches high on the drawer front and 24 inches deep. There are four drawers with the original brass hardware and card holders. Where the knobs for the card holders used to be, it was plugged most likely when it was refinished. The overall size is 20.5 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 61.5 inches high. This is quite unique as they are usually around 50 inches high. There is a lot of value and storage space in this gorgeous cabinet. This was most likely a Library Bureau of Congress as the back is all finished to be left out in the middle of the room. Shipping starts at $325 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
