We are pleased to be offering today this original finish turn of the century 1890’s to 1910’s very rare and unusual reclining back oak Morris chaise lounge. I do not mean a Morris chair or Morris rocker, but a Morris chaise lounge. Over my many years in the antique business, this is only the second Morris chaise lounge that I have had the pleasure of bringing to my customers. It is in original finish and condition. It is all tiger sawn oak with big fluted tapered legs and an adjustable back with what appears to be a brass mechanism. The lounge has a solid oak back. I am not the type that looks over for labels, but whoever made this did high quality furniture. It even has the original old buttoned and tufted floral design fabric that is still usable. There are no big stains or rips in the fabrics. The webbing has rotted over the years and it will need to be re-webbed. The overall size is 27 inches wide, 33 inches wide across the arms, 20 inches high to the seat and 40 inches high to the back. The lounge has six different levels to lay down. The tiger sawn oak legs are approximately 5 inches thick. If you are looking for a high quality rare piece of furniture than this piece will make you the talk of the town. Shipping starts at $345 if you are in our normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are in our normal area as shipping can increase the further from New England you are.
