We are pleased to be offering today this most unusual size oak file cabinet that dates from the 1890s in original condition. It hasn’t got the name tag on top, but this is definitely a library bureau of congress. We have had many of these over the years. This is a four drawer version that is the height of a three drawer as it has two index drawers on top with two regular drawers underneath. It has the brass knobs going down through the center underneath the traditional solid brass hardware. It has all the index card holders. It has panel sides and a panel back. It is 17.5 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 42 inches high. The size of the two file cabinet drawer faces are 5.5 inches tall and the two large drawer faces are 10.5 inches tall. All the sliders work. The back is all finished. There is some paint on the edge on the back where it must have gone up against the woodwork. The bottom does have a couple of chips from where it was dragged at some point. Shipping starts at $225 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
