We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful walnut carved Victorian style sideboard of most likely European origin dating from the early 1900’s. It is a beautiful piece that has an intriguing center door on the top cupboard that is solid wood carvings and the open leaf at the top of the door is open in the back at least 4 inches so you can actually put your hand behind it. The vase sticks out at least 4 inches as well. The sideboard has multi-turn finials on top, fleur-de-lis, fruit and nut berry carving across the crown, triple doors on top for storage, two stout sturdy fluted columns holding up the cupboard top and the base has hand cut dove tail drawers, carved door panels on the base with fluted columns across and multi-molded step down base ending in a bun foot. The cabinet is in original condition. The top of the sideboard base has a slight bow in the center, which is normal for the age. The bottom doors on the right hand side there are 2 or 3 cracks in the door if the buyer so desires they can mention at the time of the sale and we can get them corrected. It comes apart in three sections: top cupboard unit, center back panel and then the base. The overall size is 63 inches wide, 22 inches deep and 39 inches high to the base. From the top of the base to the top of the highest section is 62 inches high. So the overall height is 101 inches. This would be a great foyer, restaurant and storage piece. The hardware and keys are original. The beauty of this piece is the solid wood carving that appears to be all intact on the doors. Shipping starts at $485 for a driveway delivery in our normal area.
