We are pleased to be offering today this solid black walnut cabriole leg fancy carved flip down game table that dates from the 1870's era. It is a great piece in the original as found condition with the original finish. It has the dark brown stain finish. The shapely top opens to reveal a stylish felt lined playing surface. If this was in our shop we would replace the felt prior to offering, but since we are on site we will offer to bring the table to our shop and re-felt for the buyer if they so desire. The table when flipped around reveals a storage area for cards and other pieces.
The great thing about card tables is that it is three pieces of furniture in one. The first piece is a wall piece where you just put it against the wall to hold a vase or a statue. The second piece is where you flip the top up and lean it against the wall to create a lovely backdrop for an accent piece such as a bronze or Tiffany lamp. The third piece is when you flip the top up and spin it around to expose a storage compartment where you place a deck of cards, poker chips, etc to create a game table or a dining room table for four people. No matter how you choose to use it, it is a wonderful piece. These solid black walnut ones are getting harder to find. The overall size when closed is 36 inches by 18.5 inches by 30 inches. When opened it is 36 by 36 by 30. Please keep in mind the felt can be replaced and it just needs to be cleaned up. Shipping starts at $165 for a driveway delivery in our normal shipping area. Please contact us prior to purchase to obtain a quote for your specific locale to insure that you are in our normal area. Please check our site regularly as we will be listing many more items out of this estate in the coming weeks.
