We are so pleased to offer this gorgeous, beautiful period flame mahogany double-drawer, double drop leaf empire scroll post and foot work table that dates from the 1840s-‘60s. The only flaw I can see is that there is a pressure crack that doesn’t go all the way through on the solid top. There is also a seam in one drop leaf. This is in great shape for a piece this old. This model has a routered edge top drop leaf that comes with 9.5 inch wide drop leaves, and double drawers with hand-cut dovetails. The drawers measure 2 inches deep, 12 inches wide, and 14 inches from front to back, with rolled fronts. They retain their original brass period hardware, are all flame mahogany, and have flame mahogany corner blocks. Then it goes on a double empire scroll foot or jelly roll post column, down into a molded platform base that is loaded with flame mahogany, and then into a most unusual reverse curl or jelly roll foot. When closed, the cabinet is 18 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 29.25 inches high. When the leaves are up, it measures 36 inches wide. Other than the two seams on top and on the drop leaf, this cabinet is in outstanding condition, with the rich and luxurious reddish brown finish and patina.
