- SOLD Antique Country Walnut Dining Room Table - Civil War Era *REDUCED PRICE*
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Civil War Era (1860’s) solid black walnut country drop leaf dining table with an 11 inch extension leaf. This type of table was around all over the place back in the 1960s to 1970s. We used to sell hundreds of them, but now they are getting tougher to find. This one came right out of Bangor, Maine (what they call the queen city of Maine). This table dates from the 1860s and it is all original with all five legs. It pulls out to be almost 8 feet long. It has space for three more leaves if you want a larger table. The nice thing about these country solid black walnut tables with the extra leg in the middle is that it can be a small table for two, a large table for four or an even larger table to hold up to 8 people. When the table is closed, it is 24 inches wide, 43 inches deep and 28 inches high. When the two leaves are flipped up it is 52 inches wide. When the one leaf that comes with the table is installed, the table becomes 63 by 43 by 28. It also has room for 3 more leaves that we can make for you at a cost of $95 each if you are interested. The table was refinished approximately 30 years ago and it has aged to a wonderful patina that shows the beautiful grains of the solid walnut wood. On one tabledropleaf, you can see where the hinge goes and there is a small splice or small sliver of wood missing, which is common for these kinds of table. The finish is a light brown walnut and it look is gorgeous with the naturally aged patina. We have installed new wooden reproduction castors as the other ones were not there. You are getting a Civil War table that dates from the 1860-s with an old time finish for the reasonable price for $875. Keep in mind that you have the option to purchase 3 more table leaves at an additional cost for your needs. Shipping starts at $299 for a driveway delivery in our normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm the shipping cost to your particular locale.
