As game tables go, this is a really nice one! It dates from the 1930s and is burl walnut, in the Chippendale style with a Queen Anne pad foot. It’s a beautiful example of cabinet work from England, with a match burl veneer top, and the cross banded outside edge. When the center back cabriole leg is pulled out, it opens a dovetail drawer compartment for storing your game supplies, and the green felt lined interior top is still all intact. When it’s opened, it is 30 inches round, has 1.5 inches of straight grain walnut all the way around, and all the original brass hardware is intact. The only thing we’ve done is re-spray the top to make the burl walnut jump out. When closed, the table measures 30 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and 29.75 inches tall. When opened it is 30 x 29. This is three pieces of furniture in one: a demi-lune table when it is closed up, a display piece when the flip top is flipped up and leaned against the wall, or a game or card table, or even a dainty brunch table. It’s all original, and the finish on the front shows only minor wear marks here and there.
