SOLD Antique Acanthus Carved Pencil Post Twin Size Mahogany Bed

Dating from the 1940s, this is a acanthus carved pencil poster twin bed in mahogany. It comes with bolt-in rails, and measures 75 inches long on the inside, and 36 inches wide. Outside the rails, it is 39 inches wide. I believe most modern box springs and mattresses are 39 x 75, so you would need the bed set to sit on top of the rails. Someone does have the L-shaped brackets on the inside to hold the mattress on a piece of plywood so it is low for children. The outside dimensions are 40.5 inches wide, 55 inches on the footboard on the finial and 33 inches high to the top of the spindle cross stretcher. The headboard is 61 inches high, and 42 inches high to the top of the shield.
